Handmade with love…
When this whole wedding craziness started, I vowed to DIY as much as possible. A lot of projects were scrapped, due to my inexperience in certain craft arenas, and due to added production time and costs. For example, we decided against seeded paper shells for the favors, and went with chocolate shells instead – store bought even! To save me from having to learn how to make chocolate… haha.
This weekend, we made some major milestones, by finishing up the handmade soap for the Out of Town Bags, and knocking out some handmade boutonierres. What seemd a daunting task at first, the boutonierres turned out to be quite fun and relaxing. I even hand-sewed some elements, such as the blue flowers in the last arrangement (left to right).
I am so looking forward to making coordinating wrist corsages! And John suggests I make more and sell them in my etsy store. We’ll see. These will do for my wedding, but I doubt I will be able to create something for someone else. These came from the heart and (I hope) will speak specifically to the wearer, as each was made specifically with the wearer in mind.
From left to right, they are for: the best man, the groomsman, one of the ushers (the other is wearing a uniform, therefore no bout for him), the groom’s grandfather, and the groom’s father.
My favorite part of this project was making something for someone else. That is where I find my true crafting joy.

Lovely!! These are beautiful, Toni. I can tell they were made with love. Oh, BTW – can you send me your mailing address? Last one I had was for Virginia, and I wasn’t sure it was still good.
